A funeral Mass for Neola Schmidtberger, 71, formerly of Russell, was said Oct. 2, 2012, at St. Fidelis Church in Victoria. Father Peter O’Donnell celebrated the Mass. Burial was in St. Fidelis Cemetery.
Mrs. Schmidtberger died Sept. 28. She was born June 20, 1941, in Hyacinth to Isidor P. and Lidwina (Younker) Kreutzer.
Survivors include two brothers, Marvin Kreutzer, Brighton, Colo., and LeRoy Kreutzer and wife, Sandy, Hays; four sisters, Ann Sander, Littleton, Colo., Verla Staab and husband, Roger, and Millie Flax, all of Hays, and Firma Pfannenstiel, WaKeeney; and a sister-in-law, Judy Kreutzer, Russell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert F. Schmidtberger; a brother Kenneth Kreutzer; an infant brother and an infant sister.
Lawrence J. Brungardt Jr.
A funeral Mass for Lawrence J. Brungardt Jr., 71. Emmeram, was said Sept. 25, 2012, at St. Ann Church in Walker. Father Jeffrey Ernst celebrated the Mass. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.
Mr. Brungardt died Sept. 13. He was born April 16, 1941, in Hays to Lawrence J. and Alexia (Herman) Brungardt Sr.
Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Pottorff and husband, Michael, Terre Haute, Ind., and Amanda Brungardt-Oxenford, Walker; his mother, Hays; a brother, Sam Brungardt, Minneapolis; two sisters, Marge Carlson, Hays and Jackie Prickett, Wichita; five grandchildren; and his companion, Jackie House, Salina.
He was preceded in death by his wife, M. Myrlene (Castor) Brungardt.
Cody John Schmeidler
Cody John Schmeidler, infant son of Kent and Carla (Dinkel) Schmeidler, Victoria, was stillborn Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012.
Survivors include his parents; a brother, Eli; two sisters, Shelby and Sienna; his grandparents, Ray and Marilyn Dinkel, Hays, and Phil and Brenda Schmeidler, Catharine; and his great-grandparents, James and Frances Dinkel, Hays, and Cyril and Alice Schmeidler, Catharine.
Private family services were held Aug. 31, at St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria.
Rich Weber
A funeral Mass for Rich Weber, 63, Victoria, was said Aug. 30, 2012, at St. Fidelis Church in Victoria. Father Jeffrey Ernst celebrated the Mass. Burial was in St. Fidelis Cemetery.
Mr. Weber died Aug. 26. He was born Dec. 9, 1948, in Hays to Herman and Anita (Staab) Weber.
Survivors include his wife, Diana L. (Derr) Weber; a son, Richard Weber and wife, Sandra, Hays; a daughter, Melissa Schmidt and husband, Robert, Victoria; a brother, Mitch Weber and wife, Julie, Hays; a sister, Roben Weber, Hutchinson; three sisters-in-law, Charlotte Weber and Karen Weber, both of Victoria; and Rosie Weber, Hays; and six grandchildren.

Alvin M. Weigel
A funeral Mass for Alvin Weigel, 92, Victoria, was said Aug. 29, 2012, at St. Fidelis Church in Victoria. Father Jeffrey Ernst celebrated the Mass. Burial was in St. Fidelis Cemetery.
Mr. Weigel died Aug. 24. He was born July 22, 1920, in Hays to Michael P. and Agnes (Kuhn) Weigel.
Survivors include his wife, Ventura (Giebler) Weigel; a son, Gary Weigel and wife, Clarene, Colorado Springs, Colo.; two daughters, Delores Schmidt and husband, Terrance, Oklahoma City, and Jacqueline Luttrell and husband, Dennis, Eldon. Mo.; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Frank, Edgar, Joseph, Jerome and Peter Weigel; and five sisters, Rose Weigel, Lidwina Klobertanz, Basilia Frank, Regina Weigel and Irene Meis.
Lavina Vonfeldt
Lavina Vonfeldt, 79, McKinney, Texas, formerly of Hays and Victoria, died Saturday, Aug. l8, 2012.
She was born March 21, 1933, in Victoria to Levin and Pauline (Weigel) Kuhn.
Survivors include a son, Bryan Vonfeldt and wife, Nancy, Lucas, Texas; two granddaughters, Jenifer Vonfeldt, Addison, Texas, and Sarah Holland and husband, Jay, San Antonio; two great-grandchildren, Kaelyn and Dane Holland; a sister-in-law, Theresa Kuhn, Victoria; and a nephew, Bob Kuhn and wife, Debbie, Victoria.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Oliver Kuhn.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Oct. 13, 2012, at St. Fidelis Church in Victoria. Inurnment will be in St. Fidelis Cemetery.
Norbert F. Robben
A funeral Mass for Norbert Robben, 82, Walker, was said Aug. 28, 2012, at St. Fidelis Church in Victoria. Father Jeffrey Ernst celebrated the Mass. Burial was in St. Ann Cemetery in Walker.
Mr. Robben died Aug. 23. He was born Aug. 7, 1930, in Walker to Francis H. and Josephine “Josie” (Windholz) Robben.

Twila Brungardt

Mrs. Brungardt died Aug. 19. She was born Nov. 20, 1934, in Hays to Richard Roth and Mary (Mermis) Roth-Wellbrock.

Richard J. Schmidtberger

Mr. Schmidtberger died Friday, August 10. He was born July 18, 1943, in Hays to Frank J. and Lucy (Pfannenstiel) Schmidtberger.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy (Kuhn) Schmidtberger; two sons, Curt Schmidtberger and wife Mary Jo, Hays, and Jake Schmidtberger and wife, Joyce, Victoria; three daughters, Melissa Wentling, Norfolk, Neb., Stacy Schmidtberger, Hays, and Shana Rome and husband, Aaron, Hays; a brother, Dan Schmidtberger and wife, Mary, Hill City; a sister, Mary Smith, Wichita; and eleven grandchildren.

Elaine Klitzke
A funeral Mass for Elaine Klitzke, 64, Hays, was said Aug. 11, 2012, at St. Fidelis Church in Victoria. Father Jeffrey Ernst celebrated the Mass. Burial was in Mount Allen Cemetery in Hays.
Mrs. Klitzke died August 5. She was born in Hays to Bernard B. “Ben” and Ida (Meis) Brungardt.

Robert J. Sander
A funeral Mass for Robert Sander, 86, was said July 31, 2012, at St. Fidelis Church in Victoria. Father Jeffrey Ernst celebrated the Mass. Burial was in St. Fidelis Cemetery.
Mr. Sander died July 28. He was born April 9, 1926, northwest of Victoria to Joseph A. and Theresa (Quint) Sander.
Survivors include a sister, Lauraine Drazic, Kansas City, Kansas; a brother-in-law, A. J. Schmidtberger, Victoria; a sister-in-law, Jo Sander, Victoria; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Edgar, Alfred and Hubert Sander; and five sisters, Georgine Dreiling, Virginia Cardwell, Sister Sarah Sander CSA, Thelma Riedel and Celeste Schmidtberger.
Delmer F. Berens
A funeral Mass for Delmer Berens, 75, Fullerton, Calif., formerly of Walker, was said June 30, 2012, at St. Fidelis Church in Victoria. Capuchin priests, Father Jeffrey Ernst and Father Michael Scully concelebrated the Mass. Burial was in St. Ann Cemetery, Walker.
Mr. Berens died June 24. He was born Sept. 27, 1936, in Walker to Herman W. and Sophie (Windholz) Berens.

Theresa M. Schippers

Mrs. Schippers died June 15. She was born Jan. 30, 1935, in Hays to John M. and Mary T. (Herl) Pfannenstiel.

Hilaria ‘Larry’ Windholz

Mrs. Windholz died May 13. She was born Nov. 12, 1910, in Emmeram to Joseph M. and Elizabeth (Hoffman) Kuhn.

Doris Roth

Mrs. Roth died May 1. She was born March 20, 1921, in Pfeifer to John J. and Elizabeth (Kisner) Dome.

Albert Simon Rohleder

Mr. Rohleder died April 20. He was born March 3, 1919, in Victoria to Peter and Pauline (Dreiling) Rohleder.
Survivors include two sons, Al Rohleder Jr. and wife, Maureen, and Bob Evans and wife, Janice, all of Wichita; a sister, Clara Rohleder, Victoria; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Jane Frances Ruder

Florine R. Schmidt

Mrs. Schmidt died March 9. She was born Dec. 26, 1915, in Victoria to John M. and Catherine (Sanders) Rome. She married Samuel H. Neyland. He preceded her in death Sept. 1945. She later married Marcellus Schmidt.
Survivors include a daughter, Rhonda A. Horst, Denver; a son, Kenn Neyland; a sister, Elizabeth Leikam; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Helen Brungardt
A funeral Mass for Helen Brungardt, 96, Victoria, was said March 10, 2012, at St. Fidelis Church in Victoria. Father Jeffrey Ernst celebrated the Mass. Burial was in St. Fidelis Cemetery.
Mrs. Brungardt died March 7. She was born Nov. 1, 1915, in Munjor to Jacob and Rosa (Graf) Pfannenstiel.
Survivors include a son, Larry A. Brungardt and wife, Jeanie, Victoria; a daughter, Rose Marie Unrein and son-in-law, the late Bob Unrein, Victoria; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Stella Sander

Mrs. Sander died March 3. She was born Jan. 4, 1924, in Walker to William and Margaret (Hefner)-Thomas Schrant.

Mrs. Billinger died Dec. 2. She was born March 21, 1927, in Victoria to John A. and Rosa (Dreiling) Weber.

Clarence ‘Pete” Wellbrock

Mr. Wellbrock died March 17. He was born Nov. 22, 1922, in Victoria to Joseph and Catherine (Berens) Wellbrock.

Robert Lee Dinges

Mrs. Herman died Feb. 17. She was born Aug. 13, 1916, in rural Ellis County to Aloys A. and Clementine (Billinger) Sander.
